National Field Services’ Steve Newton to Present PEARL Level I Certification Training at PEARL Conference

LEWISVILLE, TEXAS – Steve Newton, Training Program Manager at National Field Services’ National Training Center, will be conducting the first training program for the PEARL Electrical Equipment Reconditioning Level I Certification Exam at the upcoming PEARL Electrical Safety, Reliability and Sustainability Conference & Exhibition.

The 8 hour training will be offered Friday, April 15, 2016, from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, the day before the Certification Exam. This is the first time that training for the certification exam has been available.

The training will cover a review of the safety requirements detailed in the PEARL Practice Analysis for Level I and II. It will also include technical information as required by the practice analysis including hardware and fasteners, metal and metal corrosion, math, electrical symbols, electrical quantities and measurements, insulation, nameplate information, equipment markings, reconditioning inspections, cleaning task, PEARL standards layout and format, basic maintenance repair and rebuilding task, and appropriate sources of equipment information.

Steve Newton is a subject matter expert for the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), a certified National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Instructor, a Master Trainer for the Instructor Certification Training Program, and is a certified Level IV, Senior Engineering Technician in electrical power testing. He is a certified instructor for Electrical, Instrumentation, Electronic, Solar, and various Power curriculums. He holds several professional memberships, including IEEE and NFPA, and is actively involved in review and development of materials for the electrical industries.
